PROJECT WORKERS (REF: PW)

2 x FULL TIME – 35 HOURS PER WEEK

FIXED TERM TO 31 DECEMBER 2011

SALARY SCALE AP1/2 (£16,302 - - £19,347)

Project Workers are required to work in our Service Centres across our services. Applicants must be able to work flexibly; some early morning, evening and weekend working may be required.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the experience and competencies required to work with people who have complex needs, including people who are living with or recovering from mental health problems.

A qualification in Social Care for the above posts is desirable.

Knowledge of the SSSC’s Codes of Practice and the National Care Standards and how this framework applies to practice is essential.

Glasgow Association for Mental Health is one of the principal providers of community mental health services in Greater Glasgow. It aims to provide high quality support both to those who are experiencing mental health difficulties and to their carers. GAMH is committed to the principles of Recovery and to raising the awareness and understanding of Mental Health issues. We wish to appoint the following:

1 x SENIOR PROJECT WORKER (HOMELESS) – FULL TIME

(REF SPW/HL)

35 HOURS PER WEEK

FIXED TERM TO 31 DECEMBER 2011

Salary Scale AP3/4 (£19,890- £24,927)

The Senior Project Worker will provide support to people with mental health problems who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and may have other related complex needs. This worker will also act as a resource tor staff within our Service Centres on issues of homelessness. Candidates should have a working knowledge of homelessness legislation and how this applies locally in Glasgow and also an experience of working with individuals whose lives have been affected by homelessness. Experience of multi agency working and good networking skills are essential for this post as is a strengths based approach to practice.

Applicants must be able to work flexibly; some early morning, evening and weekend working may be required. An SVQIII or equivalent is essential as is a knowledge of the SSSC’s Codes of Practice and the National Care Standards and how this framework applies to practice.

The successful candidate will be based initially at our North Service Centre in Springburn.
