Footballer explains battle with epilepsy
Scotland women’s footballer Julie Ferguson has explained how she manages to enjoy a high-profile sporting career while suffering from epilepsy.
The 31-year-old Celtic defender visited the Quarriers Village in Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, yesterday to meet other epilepsy patients.
Quarriers – one of Scotland’s largest social care charities – invited the star as part of their Epilepsy Week programme, which runs from June 13 to 19. Ferguson, who was diagnosed with the condition at the age of 22, was named Quarriers’ Epilepsy Champion in March.
