Glasgow Health Board Break Up Glasgow CHCPS

The Joint Partnership Board has agreed to dissolve the partnership between Social Work and Health. This will mean the end of the current arrangement of Community Health Care Partnerships in Glasgow.

This will obviously have great and lasting impacts on Provider work (assessment & care management, joint funded posts, funding arrangements, referrals, commissioning….)

In particular boundaries & changed management structures for role & responsibilities of for example; Addiction services,  community mental health, learning disability services, older people’s mental health, community child care and CAMHS….etc etc and of course future sustainability.

Article excerpt:

Glasgow’s groundbreaking merger of social work and frontline healthcare has collapsed, sparking unprecedented strife between the nation’s largest health board and local authority.

In what could be the final blow in a power struggle over control of budgets, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) voted yesterday to break up a network of community health care partnerships (CHCPs) and go it alone, a move council sources describe as being carried out in a fit of pique.
