Festival of Ideas: Dreams, Goals and Aspirations (29 Oct 2009)

29th October 2009, 10.30pm-12.00pm

Glasgow

This Quarriers session will explore the importance of skilled person-centred planning in ensuring that the person and those who know and care about them are placed meaningfully in control of planning for their support and use of their resource allocation. The workshop will demonstrate how well facilitated person centred planning can achieve this at the early stage of self directed support.

Furthermore, the workshop will explore how as an outcome of person-centred planning, natural support can be offered by family, friends and others reducing the reliance on paid support. This is mainly achieved though the principles of ‘never plan alone’, ‘no more of the same’, actively giving control to the people who matter most / know the person best, as well as grounding the process in the community the person lives in.

Places are limited to 20 and are available on a first come first served basis.
