Festival of Ideas: “Dream On” Storytelling Workshop (23 Oct 2009)

“Dream On” Storytelling Workshop

23rd October 2009, 10am-1pm
Glasgow

Lesley O’Brien loves to tell tales from all around the world. Her passion for storytelling, lies in the fact that stories not only entertain, but they also help us to understand ourselves and others, for she believes, stories can touch your heart, body and soul.

In this workshop she will identify dreams, goals and aspirations using traditional stories, storytelling games, discussion and visual art.

Since 1994, Lesley has worked as a Family Resource Worker with Glasgow Women’s Aid, based in a refuge, supporting women and children fleeing domestic abuse. There she tells stories with therapeutic value that challenge gender roles and raise issues of abuse, whilst  also encouraging women and children to tell their own stories and  find their own voice.  She has also worked with schools and women’s organisations, in museums and at festivals.

Places are limited to 12 and are available on a first come first served basis.

To attend please submit a booking form.
