Peer Support Network Meeting: Learning Disability (01 Jun 2009)

Peer Support Network Meeting: Learning Disability

Date: 01 June 2009

Time: 14.00 - 16.00

Location: TBC

Following on from our recent membership meeting, where GSCPF members asked for the opportunity for Peer Support Network Meetings, and a subsequent questionnaire, we are delighted to announce the pilot of these meetings for all care groups.

Results from our survey revealed that quarterly meetings were the most popular frequency and the majority of members were prepared to make a small financial contribution to costs if required.  Other encouraging comments included:

“It would be helpful for organisations to get together and share experiences and develop protocols for collective and partnership working”

“I think this would be a good idea to allow us to develop approaches to common issues we face”

The purpose will be for providers to get together to offload, share news, express views, discuss common care group issues and decide on possible actions to take these issues forward.

Please download the booking form containing more information on the Peer Support Network Meetings.  If you are interested in attending any of these we would be grateful if you could fill the booking form in as appropriate and return to Alison.  Please note that space in some groups is limited and we would encourage you to reply as soon as possible to ensure a chance of a place.  If you would like to attend more than one meeting please use a scale of 1 upwards, with 1 being of most importance.  This will enable us to better allocate places where groups are oversubscribed.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Alison (Tuesday or Wednesday) or Elizabeth McKenna (Monday to Friday)
